Funeral services for John Wesley Jackson, age 55, of Greenwood, are at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Mortimer National Funeral Home in Grenada. Burial will follow in Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery in Grenada.
Visitation is Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mortimer National Funeral Home.
John died Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at his mother‘s home.
He was born on February 14, 1963 in Grenada County and was the son of Jimmy Dewitt Jackson and Mary Gladys Poe Jackson.
John was employed as a truck driver. He was a Baptist and he served in the National Guard. John enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR racing. He was a big Dale Earnhardt fan.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Jackson; his father, Jimmy Dewitt Jackson; one brother, Jimmy Wayne Jackson; and his grandparents, Dewitt and Laverne Jackson and Pete and Jo Poe.
He is survived by his mother, Gladys Bennett of Grenada; one daughter, Natalie Jean Jackson Robbins, and her husband Stephen of Batesville; three granddaughters, Sierra Robbins, Madison Robbins and Aubrey Robbins; two sisters, Brenda Jackson of Greenwood and Tammy Miller of Olive Branch; one foster brother, Donnie Cain and his wife, Pam of Bruce; and life-long friends of 40 years, Dave and Linda Yarbrough of Oxford.
Memorials may be made to the Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
